A Proud Canadian’s Top 50 Canadian Bucket List Experiences
I’m a Canadian.
I was born here and I intend to die here.
My family history goes back generations.
My father’s mother was born in Drummondville. Her family has been in Canada since the 1600’s.
My mother’s mother was born on the southern shores of Georgian bay in Victoria Harbour. Without specifics, she tells us our family comes from an indigenous bloodline.
My Grandfathers both come from British descent.
French, British, Indigenous. This is the holy trinity of Canadian heritage.
I’m not necessarily trying to lean on any of these distinctions, I am merely pointing out that the Canadian in my blood runs deep.
I’m proud of my heritage.
On July 1st, we celebrate.
We celebrate our land, our history, our heritage.
Sure, there are the stereotypical things we love about Canada; Maple Syrup, Molson Beer, and of course, the best hockey players over to lace up skates.
But there is so much more.
There is so much to celebrate. Peaceful society, excellent arts and athletics. Legal cannabis all across the country. I mean, come on? We are the best god damn country in the world.
Across this incredible country we have so many amazing places to explore and so much amazing life to experience.
As a celebration of the country that has my heart, I wanted to share with you my favourite places and experiences that have shaped my love for this amazing country.
So. Here it is:
